8-Year-Old Drowns In South Nashville Apartment Pool

An investigation of the events leading to the drowning at the Residences at Stonebrook apartments is underway.

NASHVILLE, TN — An 8-year-old drowned in the pool at a south Nashville apartment complex Saturday.

Police said the child drowned shortly before 3:45 Saturday at the Residences at Stonebrook apartments on Hickory Trace Drive.

The child was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Metro Police's Youth Services division is investigating.
