Active Leads Being Worked In Murder Of Cleveland Shaw Jr. On Clarksville Pike

A car from which the shots are believed to have been fired was recovered this morning from a church parking lot on Buena Vista Pike.

Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing active leads in Wednesday night’s murder of Cleveland Shaw Jr., 29, who was fatally shot while driving a Polaris Slingshot (three-wheeled motorcycle) on the Clarksville Pike bridge over the Cumberland River. An 18-year-old man riding in the passenger seat was wounded and has non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation to this point shows that Shaw and the 18-year-old were among several individuals who were together in a parking lot of Cumberland View public housing. Shaw drove the Slingshot out of the parking lot at 11:41 p.m. with the 18-year-old as his passenger. Shots were fired at them from a car as they were on the bridge. Two guns were recovered from the driver seat of the Slingshot.
