Aggravated Assault Charge Upgraded To Murder In November Shooting Of West Nashville Man

West Precinct detectives today upgraded an aggravated assault charge to murder against Thomas Vaden III, 21, for the November 16th shooting of Randal Faulk, 56, outside Faulk’s California Avenue home. Faulk was hit multiple times and died on December 9th.

Vaden was arrested in the case on November 19th. He admitted to shooting Faulk after, he said, Faulk hit him first. Elements of Vaden’s statement were contradicted by witness information and video evidence.
