Assessor Wilhoite Extends 'No Walk-In' Constituency Services In Nashville

Request for Formal Appeals Hearing Soon to Start

Nashville and Davidson County Assessor of Property Vivian Wilhoite is extending the period of time the office will be closed to “walk-in” constituency services until May 29, 2020. The May 29 date is an extension from the previous May 1 date of closure.

Assessor Wilhoite encourages constituents to continue to leave messages on the office voice mail and send emails, both of which are checked and responded to daily by office staff. Assessor Wilhoite and staff have and will continue to respond expeditiously to inquiries provided to the Office of Assessments in the following ways:

Assessor Wilhoite also wants to inform property owners that requests to file Formal Appeals with the independent board of the Metropolitan Board of Equalization (MBOE) will begin May 20. Closer to the May 20 date, a dedicated telephone number for the Office of Assessments’ call center will be announced where property owners or their representative may request a date for a Formal Appeal hearing with the MBOE or their hearing officers. The property owner or their representative will also be given options of how they may appeal. “As we continue to work to keep our community and staff safe as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic by extending our closure to walk-in constituency services, we will continue to process daily inquiries from property owners, provide information regarding the upcoming MBOE appeals process and work to meet critical statutory deadlines while working to re-open safely,” said Assessor Wilhoite.
