Brooks Forsyth Knows What Lies Ahead

By traveling the country playing music, Forsyth has learned that there is truly "So Much Beyond Us," he says, and his experiences color the new record.

Outstanding tracks on the new album are the moody and romantic "Cast My Dreams to The Wind," the vintage-sounding "Don't Come Around No More," and "Restless at Home, Lonesome on the Road," and the cover "Blue Railroad Train."

An outstanding track that apparently means a lot to the North Carolina songwriter is the emotional "Little Coal Mining Town." The song takes an emotionally heated subject of layoffs resulting from the closure of the coal mines and plays against type with a relatively upbeat fingerpicking melody.
