Burning The "Radio"
Kory Burns Performs Sinister Cinema Party at Marathon Music Works

Miami artist Kory Burns will be in Nashville this Halloween Saturday to perform his new song, "Radio," at Marathon Music Works. It will be his first time performing live since the pandemic. "This will also be my first time performing 'Radio'," he adds. "I’m so excited!"
He plans to practice social distancing but admits it may be difficult. "I love walking through the audience and interacting with everyone."
While he has missed the stage, he regards the pandemic as being a blessing in disguise. "I work in nightlife hosting parties in Miami so while they were closed, it gave me a chance to really focus on my music."

"Radio" is a seductive R&B pop track that harkens back to 90s artists like Usher and Tevin Campbell. "We had a lot of fun recording the song," Burns continues. "I flew Sean McMillion in from Atlanta, who has worked on every song I’ve released, and I finally got the chance to work with Carlos Battey who I have wanted to collaborate with for some time."
Sean McMillion is a producer and writer best known for his work with Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj. Carlos Battey is a songwriter/producer who won a Grammy for his dance remix of Madonna and David Guetta's "Revolver."

"I’m so happy with the final product," Burns says of 'Radio.' " The song is fun, flirty; exactly the sound I was going for.”
Kory Burns grew up in South Florida, the only child of a single mother. He has known he has wanted to be a singer since he was three years old.
He was mentored by the late, great singer-songwriter Betty Wright, whom he met when he was still in high school. She lent her expertise to several of his popular tracks, including "Count the Ways" and "Runaway."
"Working with Betty was a blessing," he reflects. "She taught me things you can only learn from experience and I really tried to absorb everything that I could. We had so many incredible moments together; she even took me to the Grammys! I truly believe Betty’s watching over me from heaven."
Burns is excited to take the stage this Saturday alongside J Dash, best known for "Wop," his single with Flo Rida. "I remember when 'Wop' came out. I played it at our family’s Thanksgiving dinner and I had all the cousins completely wasted, doin' the wop with me."
Kory Burns performs "Radio" at Marathon Music Works (1402 Clinton Street) in Nashville this Saturday, October 31. $30 - $40 Tickets at www.marathonmusicworks.com.
