Characters of Character is a non-profit organization with a big mission, "To provide a firm foundation for children to establish strong civic values" and this is accomplished on so many levels. Through character visits, donations to children's hospitals, visits to classrooms, visits in the community, discussions and painting classes, etc.

Joni Downey is the creator of the Characters of Character and raised money to gift these character activity kits to children in the hospital. While the nonprofit organization resides in Illinois, we share our resources nationally. In 2020 we are moving to Tennessee and will focus on the many Children's Hospitals through the state to donate our kits and character visits to bring joy to girls and boys in the hospital. We also will provide classes for the community to engage in character building lessons through discussions and art. Joni uses her Ph.d. to share the character messages, her Passion, her Heart and her Determination to make a difference in the life of a child. You can learn more about the organization here.

Warm-Hearted Walrus dropped off 50 character activity kits to the hospital yesterday! Next week we'll be dropping off donations to Ann and Robert Lurie's Children's Hospital in Chicago. Your donations go to our hospital donations. If you're in a position to volunteer for an organization to help share their message, please do so. If you're in a position to support them through financial donations, please do so. There are many nonprofit organizations who do good things to better the community. Characters of Character shares resources nationally and can not wait to plant their roots in Tennessee. We welcome you reaching out to us with your needs and suggestions at anytime.

Warm-Hearted Walrus made it to Sesame Street! We can't wait to meet your community soon.
