Smith drove up to his former girlfriend’s home on Woodstock Drive just before 5 p.m. Saturday and found her sitting in a vehicle with a male friend. She and the male friend both got out and told Smith to leave. Detectives were told that after a brief exchange of words between the three, Smith pulled a semi-automatic pistol from his waistband and opened fire. Bullets hit the male in the hand and grazed his stomach. His vehicle was also hit by gunfire.
At the time of this shooting, Smith was free on $7,500 bond from a March arrest on charges of aggravated assault and felony vandalism stemming from a domestic dispute with his mother.
