Country Star And Atlanta Falcons Fan Luke Bryan Will Perform National Anthem at Super Bowl LI

In a tweet, Luke Bryan said he's "excited" to sing at the February 5 Super Bowl in Houston.

NASHVILLE, TN — Country star Luke Bryan tweeted Sunday that he'll be singing the national anthem ahead of Super Bowl LI in Houston February 5.

The two-time CMA Award winner for Entertainer of the Year said he's "excited" to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" before the 5:30 p.m. Central kick-off of the game between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons at NRG Stadium.

Bryan, a native of Leesburg, Georgia, told People.com before Sunday's conference championship games that he is a "huge Atlanta Falcons fan," which may upset New Englanders.

The national anthem gig may portend an even bigger stage for Bryan in the future. Lady Gaga, this year's halftime entertainment, sang the national anthem before last year's Super Bowl.
