Deja Vu All Over Again: Prominent Nashville Developer Arrested Once More

Embattled real estate developer David Chase was arrested after refusing to leave a strip club, according to police.

NASHVILLE, TN — Prominent and embattled Nashville real estate developer David Chase was arrested once again Thursday night after police said he drunkenly refused to leave a downtown strip club.

According to police records, officers were called to Deju Vu at 1214 Demonbreun Street when an employee reported a group of people congregating in the parking lot.

Police confronted Chase, saying he smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet and had red, watery eyes. Officers asked Chase to leave several times but he refused. According to the warrant, when officers approached Chase, he turned away from them.

The warrant said Chase was unable to care for himself and had not called for transportation away from the property. He was arrested for public intoxication and booked into the jail around 5:45 a.m., held on a $500 bond.

Chase was arrested for domestic violence in 2014, but the charges were dropped in 2015 when prosecutors found inconsistencies in his girlfriend's statement. A DUI charge from 2014 was dropped against Chase earlier this year.

The domestic violence charges were dropped as part of a controversial agreement with Chase and the DA's office in which Chase withdrew a federal complaint against a group of Metro police officers. In another suit, Chase alleges he was extorted and blackmailed by the DA's office. There is an ongoing conspiracy case in Williamson County filed by Chase alleging that a group of conspirators worked together to fabricate evidence in the domestic violence case and defame him.
