Detectives Investigating Fatal Shooting On Demonbreun Street

The man fatally shot Saturday at 2:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of Demonbreun Street is identified as Christopher Hill, 26, of Nashville.

The preliminary investigation by Homicide Unit detectives shows that Hill and a 25-year-old male were arguing with a third man when a gunman started shooting toward Hill and his friend, striking both. Hill was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he died. The second victim was struck in the hip and is expected to recover.

Both the person arguing with the men and the gunman fled the scene. The gunman is described as a black man with short hair who is approximately 5’9” tall with a stocky build.
