Detectives Investigating Fatal Shooting In Market Parking Lot On 25th Avenue North In Nashville

Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing leads in Wednesday’s 1 p.m. fatal shooting of Samuel Lamont Smith, 38, in the parking lot of Reshas Bi-Rite market at 717 25th Avenue North.

Officers responded and found Smith deceased, lying near his car. The preliminary investigation shows that Smith was talking with an acquaintance when at least two suspects, described only as young black men, fired shots toward the two men from an alley behind the market, striking Smith in the head.
