Detectives Work To Identify Man Who Attacked Woman On West Park Greenway Trail

The 34-year-old victim reported being struck with a blunt object and grabbed from behind.

West Precinct officers and Special Victims Division detectives are working to identify the man who attacked a Nashville woman as she ran on a trail at the West Park Greenway off Morrow Road Monday afternoon.

The 34-year-old victim reported that she was running west along the trail at 2:20 p.m. when she saw the man walking in the same direction in front of her. She said the man struck her with a club or blunt object as she passed him and grabbed her from behind. The victim screamed and pushed him away from her before running toward the nearby community center from where help was called.

The assailant is described as a white man with dark hair who wore dirty jeans and a black COVID mask. He is approximately 5’10” tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. Anyone with information about the man is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
