Don't Wait Til Halloween-Tricks or Treats

Don't Wait Til Halloween

Don't wait until Halloween to talk about good behaviors! Halloween is a fun day for kids to dress in costume and enjoy parades and parties and today, Trunk or Treat. When I grew up we dressed in a hot plastic mask of a favorite character that mom got from the store, and sometimes we'd make our own!

But one thing was certain, we were always to say, "Thank you" when we received a treat from a neighbors house we went to. However, manners, good behavior, and a child's character should not be displayed on special occasions, but each and every day of their lives.

Here at Characters of Character we focus on nine vital core values. If you visit the characters page you'll find fun composition notebooks we created! Use these as visual reminders, to take notes, to write a letter of encouragement to your child, to practice letters, words or just doodle. When you put a pen and paper in a child's hand you're building their fine motor skills, building their literacy skills and allowing them to use their imagination, what a great way to build a love of learning!

Visit us on line to meet all nine characters, to donate or to learn more about what we're all about! We have books, projects and share plenty of resources in our newsletters, so, please stop on by! If you're in the area, we will be at Friday Night Market in Springfield tomorrow and hoping it doesn't rain! We'd love to see you there!

Each character has fun composition notebooks and social stories, some have activity books and all have good character with lessons that reinforce these traits for a lifetime. Please talk with your children what good character looks like, feels like and sounds like, be like the Characters of Character!
