Dreaming of a White Christmas in Middle Tennessee? Keep Dreaming
The bookmakers and meteorologists say there's a one-in-five chance of a White Christmas in the Midstate. One of those five is not 2016.

NASHVILLE, TN — Dropping the needle on your Bing Crosby record and dreaming of a White Christmas? If you really want to see snow, you'd be better off dropping some money on a plane ticket.
Statistically, Nashville has a 19 percent chance of seeing snow on Christmas in any given year, according to the National Weather Service, and an 8 percent chance of measurable snowfall of a tenth of an inch or greater. However, if that given year is this year, the chances are 0 percent.
The current forecast for Christmas calls for a high of 64, roughly twice the temperature needed for snowfall, which is too bad, because there will be moisture about, with a 30 percent chance of rain.
