The girl, who was grazed by a bullet, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her injuries are not life-threatening. Police were already in the area investigating a shots-fired complaint and a witness told them a building had been hit by a bullet. The officers then discovered the wounded girl.
Investigators say the person she was sitting with fled before police arrived and while he is not believed to be injured, police would like to speak with him.
