Exchange Of Gunfire At Motel On Murfreesboro Pike Leaves One Man Dead, Another Wounded

The deceased, who carried no identification, is believed to be a 19-year-old Nashville man.

A Wednesday night altercation inside of a room at the Rodeway Inn, 893 Murfreesboro Pike, led to two men shooting each other, one fatally. The deceased, who carried no identification, is believed to be a 19-year-old Nashville man. Fingerprint confirmation of his identity is pending.

The other man shot, a 36-year-old from Hartsville, Tennessee, was hit in the abdomen and is recovering at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Several persons were inside the motel room at the time of the gunfire. Homicide Unit detectives are investigating whether the 36-year-old shot the deceased man in self-defense.
