Opryland Hotel Fire: Smoke Damage, But No Injuries
The fire at the Opryland Hotel began in a steakhouse kitchen

NASHVILLE, TN — Nashville Fire Department crews responded midday Wednesday to a fire at Gaylord Opryland Hotel.
Nashville Fire spokesman Brian Haas said the fire began in the kitchen of Old Hickory Steakhouse and then spread to a rooftop HVAC unit. The call came in to Metro dispatchers around noon Wednesday.
An Opryland spokesperson told The Tennessean was contained shortly before 1 p.m. Hotel guests were evacuated as a precaution, but no one was injured. One firefighter was treated for heat-related symptoms on the scene.

There is smoke damage to the restaurant but a minimal amount of water damage.
Smoke from the fire could be seen at some distance.

The Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center is the largest non-casino hotel in the United States outside of Las Vegas.
