Fisher, 59, began his head coaching career for the Houston Oilers in the middle of the 1994 season. He then coached the team through its transition to the Tennessee Oilers — playing a season in Memphis and at Vanderbilt Stadium — and finally the Titans at what is now Nissan Stadium. He led the team to the Super Bowl in 1999 and five other playoff appearances. He and the Titans parted ways at the end of a 6-10 campaign in 2010. He then coached the St. Louis Rams for four seasons and for the first 13 games of the 2016 season after the team moved back to Los Angeles.
"We spent so many years here; we just love the people and we have so many great friends here," Fisher told The Tennessean. "Everywhere you go people are just like, 'Hey, welcome back.' It's just really cool. ... The people are so friendly. It's a great, great town. I went to a Predators playoff game the other night and had a blast. It's a fun, fun place to live."
