NASHVILLE, TN — The biggest star in the history of country music will play a free concert at Ascend Amphitheater later this month.
At a Monday morning news conference, during which he was named the state's Goodwill Ambassador by Gov. Bill Haslam, Garth Brooks announced a free concert October 24 at the riverfront venue.
But it's not a just-show-up event. Fans must follow "Tennessee" on Snapchat to find out how to get tickets.

The show, which will be significantly scaled down from his huge arena concerts, is in honor of Brooks being the first artist in history to have seven albums certified as Diamond for 10 million units sold. In his career, Brooks has sold more than 138 million records.
