Goodlettsville Little League Uses Big Innings To Get Big Win Against Iowa

A chance to play for the U.S. title is coming Thursday night.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PA — Two massive innings busted open the game and what started out looking like a tight game ended up shortened by Little League's run rule, as Goodlettsville advanced to within one game of playing for the U.S. title with a 14-3 win against Johnston, Iowa.

Goodlettsville took an early lead on a solo home run by Ethan Jackson in the top of the second, but a three-run home-run by Kaiden Dinh gave the Iowans a 3-1 third-inning lead.

And then Goodlettsville caught fire, posting six runs in the fourth and seven more in the fifth to take a 14-3 lead into the bottom of the fifth. Iowa failed to score, triggering Little League's 10-run rule and ending the game.
