Hendersonville Resident Arrested Wednesday Night For Drag Racing On I-40 In Nashville
Orlando Stuart, 19, is also charged with felony evading and reckless driving.

The MNPD’s crackdown on street racing continued Wednesday night as a police helicopter spotted a black Dodge Charger and a motorcycle racing at speeds in excess of 100 mph on l-40 near Charlotte Avenue. The Charger exited the interstate and traveled onto Elliston Place where Midtown Hills Precinct officers attempted to stop it. The driver, Orlando Stuart, 19, accelerated away and sped through red traffic signals as he fled.

Ground units did not pursue the car. The helicopter crew continued following it from the air as it traveled into Sumner County and parked at a home in Hendersonville. The helicopter crew kept a spotlight on the car and coordinated with Sumner County deputies to take Stuart into custody. He is charged in Nashville with felony evading, drag racing and reckless driving.
The Charger was registered to Stuart’s mother in Hendersonville and was left in her care Wednesday night.
