Homicide Detectives Working Active Leads In Murder Of 15-Year-Old Boy In South Nashville

Homicide Unit detectives are working active leads in this afternoon’s murder of Edgar Utley V, 15, on the front porch of his home on Pointer Court in South Nashville.

Detectives have determined that Utley was visited by a female, who was in the house for about 10 minutes before walking onto the front porch with the victim. A male gunman was there hiding, approached Utley and shot him. The gunman and the female then fled the area.

The gunman is described as black and wore red clothing. The female is described as black and wore blue pants, a white hoodie and a black beanie hat. Anyone with information about them, or why Utley was targeted, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
