Hunters Lane High School Student Charged With Carrying A Gun On School Property

The 16-year-old is accused of having a loaded nine-millimeter handgun in his car.

Officers today charged a 16-year-old Hunters Lane High School student with carrying a nine-millimeter handgun on campus.

Hunters Lane staff alerted School Resource Officers that the freshman was in possession of a gun magazine loaded with 14 nine-millimeter bullets. Officers searching the student’s car located the handgun on the passenger side floorboard.

The 16-year-old admitted that the gun was his. He said he bought the weapon in his neighborhood.

The teen is charged with unlawful possession of a handgun on school property.
