Hurricane Matthew Cancels Nashville Flights
Airlines are cancelling flights to Florida as Hurricane Matthew heads for the Sunshine State.
NASHVILLE, TN — Flight cancellations are underway at Nashville International Airport as Florida airports shut down before Hurricane Matthew's landfall Thursday.
Flights to Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami are already cancelled as the hurricane rumbled through the Bahamas Thursday, after which it is expected to strengthen again into a Category 4 storm before hitting Florida's East Coast, moving north into Georgia and the Carolinas.
Cancellations will ramp up as the day goes on. Ft. Lauderdale's airport will cease operations at 10:30 a.m. Central Thursday, while Miami International Airport will shut down at 11 a.m. Central.
