'I Believe In Nashville' Mural Defaced Again: Report

Vandal caught on camera; reward offered for info leading to person who painted over popular 12South artwork.

NASHVILLE, TN — A popular mural in Nashville's 12South neighborhood has been vandalized for the second time this year, according to a media report. The building's owners are offering a $500 reward for information leading to the culprit, NewsChannel 5 WTVF reported Tuesday.

The "I Believe in Nashville" mural was unveiled in 2012 on the side of a building at 2700 12th Avenue South. But at some time late Monday or early Tuesday, a vandal painted it over with the words "I Believe in Global Warming," News Channel 5 reported.

When the damage was discovered early Tuesday morning, the building's owners blacked out the vandal's words. They also released a surveillance image of the vandal, NewsChannel 5 reported.

Back in March, another vandal defaced the mural with tar, NewsChannel 5 reported. The building's owners had the tar removed, and the mural was repainted by Nashville street artist Adrien Saporiti.
