Police arrested a driver going 99 mph on Interstate 24 following a hit and run accident that killed another driver Saturday.
JOELTON, TN — A hit and run wreck claimed the life of one driver on Interstate 24 near Joelton early Saturday morning. Metro Police have a suspect in custody after he was pulled over driving 99 mph.
Investigators say a white sedan was hit from behind around 1:15 a.m., sending the car into a guardrail. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene and the passenger was taken to Skyline Medical Center with minor injuries.

Witnesses told police they saw a red Dodge Magnum speeding on the interstate around the time of the wreck. A short time later, a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper pulled over a car matching the description driving 99 mph. The car had front-end damage, according to police.
The driver was arrested and charges are pending.
