Unfortunately for Buford, an MNPD helicopter was overhead and followed the truck to 45th Avenue North at Delaware Avenue where Buford stopped and fled on foot. Buford jumped several fences before officers caught up with him and took him into custody in a back yard near 45th Avenue North and Georgia Avenue. Inside the stolen pickup truck were two shotguns taken during a vehicle burglary Monday on Brentwood Meadows Circle.
Buford is charged with vehicle theft, felony evading arrest, vehicle burglary, and gun theft. Unlike the $3,000 bond set for Buford Saturday, he is now jailed in lieu of $85,000 bond.
