Man Arrested Following Friday Morning Road Rage Incident In Hermitage

An early morning road rage incident on Old Hickory Boulevard at Central Pike in Hermitage led to today’s arrest of Robert N. Davis (also known as Robert Johnston), 52, on charges of aggravated assault and gun possession by a convicted felon.

The 37-year-old victim called police to report that a stranger, subsequently identified as Davis, pulled alongside him during a traffic dispute. They two men exchanged words through their windows before Davis, according to the victim, pulled a pistol and threatened to shoot him.
Davis pulled into a fast food restaurant on Old Hickory Boulevard. The victim remained in the immediate area and called police. Hermitage Precinct officers saw Davis pull out of the restaurant and enter onto I-40 where he was stopped. Davis initially denied having a gun, but subsequently admitted there was a pistol in the center console of his SUV.

Davis, of Oak Ridge, admitted to being a convicted felon in Florida. He is jailed in lieu of $125,000 bond.
