Man Dies In Crash On Springfield Highway In Nashville

The Greenbrier, Tennessee man killed Sunday at 12:45 a.m. in a single-vehicle crash on Springfield Highway near Baker Station Road is identified as David A. Blackwell, 43.

The preliminary investigation shows that Blackwell was driving his 2012 Chevrolet Equinox north on Springfield Highway when he entered a slight curve and, for reasons unknown, left the roadway striking a wooden fence. Blackwell died at the scene. His front seat passenger/wife, Crystal Blackwell, 39, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center with critical injuries. There was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement at the scene.
