Man Disables MTA Bus, Threatens Driver: Nashville Police
A 28-year-old man allegedly disabled a Nashville bus's power supply and threatened the driver.
NASHVILLE, TN — A 28-year-old man disabled an MTA bus and then threatened the driver with a throat-slashing motion, according to Metro Nashville Police.
According to an arrest report, Elbashir Dawod somehow gained access to the battery compartment of an MTA bus Sunday and switched it into the "off" position, shutting the engine down. The driver told police she saw Dawod tampering with her bus's undercarriage, so she locked herself inside. The driver said Dawod was yelling "in a foreign language as he made a slashing gesture across his throat with his hand," according to the affidavit.

She called police, who arrested Dawod and charged him with assault, vandalism and false imprisonment.
