Man Shot In Head On Busy Midtown Street

A man was shot in the head while sitting in his car on a busy stretch of Church Street Friday.

NASHVILLE, TN — A man was shot in the head while sitting in his car outside a block of popular bars in Midtown Friday night.

Metro Police working a car accident were approached by a witness at 2 a.m. saying there'd been a shooting on McMillan Street near Church Street. Responding officers found the victim shot in the head. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police the victim and his boyfriend were sitting in a black Chevy Camaro when they were approached by a man who talked with them for 10 or 15 minutes before pulling a gun, pointing at the victim's head and firing.

The gunman fled on foot but K9 units could not track him because of the heavy foot traffic in the area.
