Melvin Evans Wanted For Last Wednesday's Murder Outside Fairfield Avenue Market

Homicide Unit detectives have sworn out a murder warrant charging Melvin R. Evans, 50, with last Wednesday morning’s fatal shooting of Jashaun Cane-Germane, 24, outside a market at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Lafayette Street.

The investigation shows that the men engaged in an argument inside the store. The dispute continued after both men exited, resulting in Cane-Germane being shot.

Evans is known to frequent the area around Napier public housing. Anyone seeing him or knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
