Homicide Unit detectives have sworn out a murder warrant charging Melvin R. Evans, 50, with last Wednesday morning’s fatal shooting of Jashaun Cane-Germane, 24, outside a market at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Lafayette Street.

The investigation shows that the men engaged in an argument inside the store. The dispute continued after both men exited, resulting in Cane-Germane being shot.
