Metro Nashville PD Releases Video In Regard To Self-Inflicted Shooting Off Claiborne Street

The below YouTube link is the unedited MDHA video that shows Markquett Martin running from two Hermitage Precinct community engagement officers this afternoon in a public housing area off Claiborne Street.

IMPORTANT: The MDHA video system does not record continuously. The “freezes” in the video are from the system itself.

Martin suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound while running from the officers. Martin carried a .40 caliber pistol with an extended magazine. No officers fired their weapons.

Detectives are continuing to investigate his death. An autopsy is pending.
