Middle Tennessee Weather: Winter Weather Advisory in Effect Until Midnight Friday
Light snow amounts are forecast across Middle Tennessee Friday.

NASHVILLE, TN — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of Middle Tennessee through midnight Friday. The advisory area includes Davidson, Williamson and Rutherford counties.
Snow is pushing into the Nashville area Friday morning and is forecast to persist through early afternoon. There will then be a lull before snow picks up again towards the evening hours, particularly east of Nashville. A half inch to an inch is expected across much of the area, with locally higher amounts east and on the Cumberland Plateau.
The original advisory was just for counties south of Interstate 40, but the weather office in Old Hickory expanded the catchment area early Friday morning to include areas north of I-40 as models became more aggressive about the threat of snow and moved its track farther north.
