Midtown Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested 5 Minutes After Stick-Up

Metro Police responding to a robbery report at the Midtown Pinnacle Bank

NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Police arrested a suspected bank robber just minutes after they say he held up a Midtown bank branch.

Investigators say Anthony Corbin, 51, entered the branch at 23rd and West End around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, approached a teller carrying a gun and demanded cash. After receiving the money, he fled.

Minutes later, officers on their way to the bank spotted Corbin two blocks away at 21st and West End, carrying a BB gun made to look like a semi-automatic pistol. Corbin matched the description given by the bank of the robber. He was also carrying two large knives and a bag of money, according to police.

Corbin is expected to face federal bank robbery charges.
