Nashville Clubgoer Brain Dead After Beating By Bouncer

Metro Police have arrested a bouncer accused of beating a club patron and putting him into a coma.

NASHVILLE, TN — A man beaten outside a North Nashville club in October is brain-dead and a bouncer at the club is behind bars, accused of attempted murder.

On October 15, security at Jazzy's Restaurant and Lounge on Hampton Street escorted Shamar Davis from the club, when he allegedly punched one of the bouncers in the face. According to a police report, Lamar Clay, who was working security but was not among the group escorting Davis, jumped into the fray, pushing Davis to the ground of the parking lot and repeatedly punched him in the face.

Other bouncers broke up the fight and called 911. Davis was taken to Skyline Medical Center, where he remains. He is in a coma and is brain dead.
