Nashville Detectives Pursuing Leads In Murder Of Darrelle Groves

North Precinct detectives are continuing to pursue leads in Thursday night’s fatal shooting of Darrelle Groves, 37, inside an apartment at the Village on the Green complex on Ed Temple Boulevard. Groves was transported by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

A second person shot in the same incident, Tyontez Moore, 20, was taken by private vehicle to Summit Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound to his buttocks. He has been released from the hospital.

Multiple persons have been interviewed about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Detectives are continuing to work through the details of their statements. A strong marijuana odor was present in the apartment, leaving open the possibility that the gunfire was drug related.
