Metro Mayor Megan Barry touted the selection of Nashville as the site for the Man City/Spurs match as further evidence Nashville should be selected for an MLS expansion franchise.
“Nashville’s march towards being a premier soccer destination in the Southeast continues with this exciting matchup between two British powerhouses,” she said. “We are excited to welcome these teams and all of their fans to Nissan Stadium, where I’m sure we’ll show further evidence that Nashville is ready to welcome the USL next year and should be a destination city for the next MLS franchise.”
