Nashville Man Found Dead After Shooting Girlfriend

A man believed to have shot and wounded his girlfriend was himself found shot in the chest after wrecking his car.

NASHVILLE, TN — A man who apparently shot and wounded his girlfriend was found dead after his wrecking his car. The man had a gunshot wound in his chest, though investigators say it was not immediately clear if someone else shot him or if it was self-inflicted.

The woman's daughter called 911 after the man shot her mother, wounding her, in an apartment on University Court. Police then found the man in a wrecked car on nearby Carroll Street, three blocks away, with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to the hospital where he died.
