Nashville Man Guilty Of Raping 3-Month-Old, Sentenced To 35 Years

NASHVILLE, TN — A Nashville man pleaded guilty last week for raping his 3-month-old child and recording it on his cell phone. A judge sentenced him to 35 years in prison.

Michael Delk, 39, pleaded guilty to rape of a child and especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

Delk's wife reported him to police after finding cell phone images of the rape.

"There are cases that come across your desk that will haunt you forever, this is one of those cases," Assistant District Attorney Chad Butler told Fox 17. "The only blessing in this case is that this baby is happy and healthy, and the person who committed this horribly despicable act is exactly where he belongs, where he can’t hurt another child."

Delk will serve 100 percent of his 35 year sentence.
