Nashville Murder Suspect Rico Ransom In Custody
Ransom, 17, is accused in the November 2019 fatal shooting of Steven Shelton, 18, at the Cumberland View apartments on 25th Avenue North.

North and Hermitage Precinct undercover detectives in coordination with TITANS detectives, this afternoon arrested Rico Ransom, 17, who was wanted for the November 2019 fatal shooting of Steven Shelton, 18, in the Cumberland View apartments on 25th Avenue North.

The homicide investigation, being led by North Precinct detective Jason Frank, resulted in the identification of Ransom as one of two teens who approached an SUV, with Shelton in the passenger seat, and opened fire. Ransom was identified through tips to Crime Stoppers and video surveillance.
Zyshawn Lewis, 17, was charged with criminal homicide in this case in November 2019.
