Nashville PD To Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint Planned For New Year's Eve
In 2019, 41% of fatal crashes in Davidson County involved impairment.

Metro police officers will be staffing a sobriety checkpoint beginning in the late evening hours of Thursday, December 31st (New Year’s Eve) on Lebanon Pike in the Hermitage Precinct.

The checkpoint will be staffed by the DUI Unit along with extra-duty officers working through a grant from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.
In 2019, 41% of fatal crashes in Davidson County involved impairment. Additionally, the department responded to more than 800 crashes involving alcohol impairment with more than 500 injuries as a result.
