Nashville Police: OnStar Shuts Down Stolen SUV; Teen Driver Arrested, Stolen Gun Recovered

West Precinct detectives Wednesday night enlisted the help of OnStar to shut down a stolen Cadillac XT5 SUV on Homestead Lane in Madison.

The driver of the 2017 model Cadillac, Dyquan Poole, 18, was taken into custody without incident. Poole admitted to stealing the SUV Wednesday from a residence on Hillwood Boulevard in West Nashville. The victim reported that her vehicle was stolen sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. Wednesday. Officers recovered a handgun from the SUV which had been reported stolen in a gun store burglary in Gallatin.

Additionally, a wallet was found in the Cadillac belonging to a woman who reported that overnight Wednesday her car had been broken into on Electric Avenue in East Nashville. After the theft, her stolen credit cards were used at multiple locations. The investigation continues into this case.

Poole is currently charged with vehicle and firearm theft. He is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond.

Assisting West Precinct detectives in locating the stolen SUV were Midtown Hills Precinct detectives, Canine Unit officers, and a THP helicopter team.
