Sex Crimes detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man who on May 16th raped a woman at gunpoint outside her apartment building at 1501 Rosa Parks Boulevard.
The victim parked her vehicle in a gated area around 3:15 a.m. She was walking up a stairwell toward her apartment when the suspect grabbed her from behind. He told her that he had a gun and would kill her. She reported that he then forced her back into her car where she was sexually assaulted.

The rapist is described as a black man in his 20s with short “spikey” hair (possibly twists) and distinctive tattoos of small symbols near both eyes. He also has a tattoo on the back of one of his hands. He appears to be under six feet tall. He wore a red shirt with white print on the front, dark shorts, and pastel rubber sandals.
Anyone knowing of a man with the above description, who may live in the area where the rape occurred, is asked to immediately contact the Sex Crimes Unit at 615-862-7540, or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
