Nashville Teen Involved In Assault Of A High School Student Last Month Comes Forward

The 16-year-old's dad said the family wanted to do the right thing and apologize to the victim and his mother.

A 16-year-old Nashville high school student who assaulted a 17-year-old student just after the two got off a WeGo city bus in the 800 block of Gallatin Avenue on November 19th has come forward with his father. The young man said that he allowed his emotions to get the best of him after what he termed a misunderstanding with the 17-year-old. The 16-year-old’s dad said the family wanted to do the right thing and apologize to the victim and his mother.

Based on the totality of the investigation, the MNPD’s Youth Services Division will be referring this case to Juvenile Court for mediation. The 17-year-old victim’s family agrees with that resolution. No further police action will be taken.
