The victim, Debbie Boone, and her 14-year-old daughter walked from their Cumberland View apartment to the Kwik-Sak Market at the intersection of Clarksville Pike & S. Hamilton Road early today. As they were leaving, Boone recognized the driver of the Yukon as a woman who lives in their community. Boone asked for a ride home and the driver obliged. After traveling a short distance, someone in a dark colored car started shooting at the Yukon. Boone was fatally wounded and was pronounced dead at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Her daughter and the driver were not hurt.
It remains unclear why the gunman opened fire on the Yukon. Anyone with information about the murder of Debbie Boone is asked to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
