North Precinct Detectives Pursuing Leads In Fatal Shooting At Brick Church Pike Motel

The man fatally shot at 4 a.m. today in the parking lot of America’s Best Value Inn at 2403 Brick Church Pike is identified as Thomas Edward Boyd, 37, who had recently stayed at the motel and went there early today to retrieve his belongings.

Shortly after Boyd arrived on the property, he became involved in an altercation with a man who was in another room with several other persons. The altercation led to Boyd being fatally shot. The man responsible fled the scene.

North Precinct detectives are pursuing strong leads as they work to confirm the gunman’s identity. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
