North Precinct Detectives Working To Identify Shooter In Wednesday Night's Murder Of Lakayla Garrett
Nashville Fire Department personnel driving on Herman Street found Garrett lying in the grass a short time after gunshots were reported.

North Precinct detectives are working to identify the gunmen who murdered Lakayla Garrett, 35, on Herman Street near 24th Avenue North just before 9 p.m. Wednesday. Garrett died at the scene of multiple gunshot wounds.

Nashville Fire Department personnel driving on Herman Street found Garrett lying in the grass a short time after gunshots were reported. A bag of marijuana was found near her. One resident said that she saw Garrett walking on Herman Street by herself moments earlier.
