Nothing Lasts Forever, Even An Old November's Reign: Nashville Sets Mark For Monthly High Temperature

The mercury at Nashville International climbed to 88 degrees Tuesday, the highest-ever temperature recorded in November.

NASHVILLE, TN — Never in recorded history has a November day in Nashville been as hot as Tuesday.

Noon Tuesday, Nashville International Airport hit 85, tying the record high for the date set in 1935, which also served as the all-time record for the entire month of November. With plenty of daylight left, there was time for the mercury to best that 81-year-old mark.

That's 21 degrees above the average high for November 1 of 67.

Crossville also beat its all-time daily and monthly record, touching 80 for the first time ever in November.

The warm start to November follows the fourth-warmest October in Nashville history, when the average high was 80.5 degrees, 7.4 degrees above normal. The temperature reached 91 on October 19, the latest 90-degree day in Nashville history.

Things will begin to cool Thursday with a rain chance and a front passage, bringing temperatures back into the 70s.
